Your own voice

At the start of the game, you can record about fifteen seconds through your microphone. The game builds a voice for your character from that recording: when you pick a reply in a conversation, your character speaks it in your voice.

Recording only happens if you start it and agree to it. It's tied to your account, used only for your own replies, and never for other players or the island's characters. You can turn it off and delete it anytime in your account.

Voices of the islanders

The seven main characters and the voices from the intro, Lena Falk at the front desk and the driver, speak their fixed lines with pre-generated clips. The clips ship with the game and need no outside connection. The remaining characters get their clips over time.

Free-form replies are generated live in the same voice once a game profile exists. No recording of a real person is cloned for the fictional islanders; the characters are parody, not statements from real people.

Weapon sound

Fifteen weapons are in the game, and each now has its own shot sound: 9mm, .45 ACP, and .357 Magnum, .22 LR, the rifle calibers, .338 Lapua, 12/70 shot, flare, and harpoon each have their own sound design.

Reloading sounds match the mechanism too: magazine, slide, bolt handle, forestock, revolver cylinder, break action, and harpoon winch. Plus casings hitting the ground, drawing, and holstering. It's all generated in the browser, with no loaded sound files.
