Island for playing on your own computer. Download, unpack, launch. No account, no login.

One file per system, for Windows, macOS and Linux. Whatever comes after the download, the game fetches on its own at launch.

Double-click to unpack the ZIP, then launch Island.app. On first launch, macOS shows “Apple could not verify …”. Click “Done” there (NOT “Move to Trash”), then go to System Settings → Privacy & Security → scroll down and click “Open Anyway” → confirm with your password. After that the app launches normally. Alternatively, in Terminal: xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine ~/Downloads/Island.app

How the game stays up to date

Download once and you're set. On launch, the game checks on its own whether a newer version is available. If so, a bar appears in the bottom left; clicking “Update now” fetches only the changed files, not the whole package, and the game runs on the new version right away. You can also check by hand anytime via the menu “Game → Check for updates” (Ctrl+U, Cmd+U on Mac). You only need a file from here again if you're setting the game up on another computer.

Verify the file

Compare the checksum: on Linux and macOS with shasum -a 256 DATEI, on Windows with certutil -hashfile DATEI SHA256. If it doesn't match, download again and write to us.
