Activate Your License Key: Purchase, Email, Account, Redemption
After you buy Epstein Island Game the license key arrives in email at once. It also sits in the account, next to the invoice and the order. Redeeming it in the game is still in development, so until then the key stays attached to the email address.
Here is the path from the buy button to the key, how guest checkout works with no account, what the checkbox before payment means, and why Steam on this site is a login, not a store.
Buy a license key: three packages, one checkout
The buy page lists three packages. Singleplayer with story mode for 39,99 Euro, multiplayer for 19,99 Euro with no story mode, both together for 49,99 Euro. Each price is one-time, VAT included, no subscription.
A click on the buy button opens a window. Payment sits in that window at once, embedded through Stripe. Which methods appear depends on the payments account; the page only lists what is actually enabled. You type card details at Stripe, not in a studio form.
At the top of the window you see the name, the scope, and the line “Windows, macOS, Linux”. At the bottom sit the withdrawal notice, the terms, privacy, and the imprint. Without the checkbox for immediate start, no payment begins, including wallet one-tap payments.
If you already own a package, the page locks that buy button and writes the reason beside it. Already have singleplayer: then multiplayer alone is the cheaper add-on, not the bundle. The other way around is the same. If both halves are unlocked, the page says another purchase does nothing.
The key arrives by email and lives in the account
Once payment goes through, the site creates the key. The email subject names the game. Inside it the key sits large, plus the package, a path to the download, and a path to the account. The invoice comes from Stripe.
The thanks page shows the same key as soon as Stripe has reported the purchase. The page checks on its own a few more times. You can close the window. Nothing is lost: the key stays attached to the address.
In your account the key, orders, and invoices sit together. With no purchase the page says no key is there yet. After a purchase you see the package, the valid status, and the key ready to copy.
The email says the key lives in the account for good. That is true once an account with the same address exists. As a guest, the email alone is enough until you sign in. If the email does not arrive, check spam and the thanks page before you pay again.
TipDo not pass the key on. It belongs to your address. Several people may not use it at the same time.
Guest checkout: one email address, attach it to an account later
An account is not required to buy. As a guest you enter an email address, and the key and invoice go there. Checkout tracks the two paths clearly: account or guest.
If you later register or sign in with the same address, the purchase attaches to the account. The thanks page tells guests that in so many words.
Where Steam sign-in is set up, the purchase window shows a Steam button. Steam here is only login. If the Steam account has no email address, you type one, or the site cannot send the key and the invoice.
Activate the license key in the game: where that work stands
The home page says it with no wrapping: redeeming the license key in the game is in development. The FAQ uses the same sentence and adds that until then the key sits in the account. The play page writes in the dev note: key redemption is still in development.
So today there is no finished button in the prototype where you type the key and then see a confirmation. If you expect that, you are waiting for a feature the site itself lists as missing.
What the key later unlocks depends on the package: singleplayer, multiplayer, or both. Two valid keys on the same address add up, so buying one after the other does not make you pay twice for the same half. Until in-game redemption exists, that changes nothing about the free browser prototype and nothing about the free download.
As long as the prototype does not ask for the key, the island looks the same after a purchase. What is new is the email, the invoice, and the row in the account. Keep the key anyway. In-game redemption will need exactly that code.
Fourteen days to withdraw, and the checkbox in front of it
As a consumer you have fourteen days from the contract, with no need to give a reason. That holds as long as you have not agreed to immediate delivery. You send the notice in a plain email or with the template on the withdrawal page.
In front of the pay button sits a box. The sense of the text: you expressly ask that work on the contract starts before the withdrawal period ends, and you know that receiving the key ends the withdrawal right. Without that box the pay button stays locked.
If you tick the box and pay, the right ends when access is unlocked, which is how the law treats digital content. If you want to keep the period, do not start the purchase and write first. Defect rights stay untouched. Prices in one view sit under packages and prices.
What you can do with the key before the game redeems it
The key is bound to your address. You may use the game privately on devices you yourself use, and you may keep backup copies. You may not sell it, lend it, or hand the same key to several people at once.
The key does not change the free download. The files stay reachable with no login. The key is the mapping: this package, this address, this account. Once in-game redemption exists, the game will check exactly that mapping.
Until then you keep playing the prototype as before. After a purchase, what is new is the email, the invoice, and the account row, not a different island map. How far you get without buying is under play free in the browser.
Frequently asked questions
How do I activate the license key in the game?
You do not, not in the prototype. Redemption is in development. Until then the key lives in the purchase email and in the account.
Where do I find my key if the email is missing?
On the thanks page right after payment, and for good in your account once you are signed in with the same address. Check the spam folder too.
Can I buy the key as a guest?
Yes. You enter an email address, and the key and invoice go there. Sign in later with the same address and the purchase attaches to the account.
Do I lose the withdrawal right when I receive the key?
Yes, if you agreed to immediate start. Without that checkbox the purchase does not start. Without the agreement, fourteen days from the contract still apply.
Do I need Steam to use the key?
No. Steam is an optional login on the website. The key is attached to the email address, not to a Steam store.
